Dark and delish! Makes about 2 cups frosting. Enough to frost top and sides of a 2 layer cake.
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 2/3 cup cocoa
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 – 3 1/2 cups icing sugar
- 1/3 cup buttermilk
- 2 tsp vanilla
Cool cake completely before frosting.
Can frost sides and top of a single layer cake generously, or 24 cupcakes.
If you plan to leave the cake in the pan, and only need enough to frost the top, then use the Fudgy Cocoa Frosting recipe instead, as it makes just enough for that purpose.
